Ocean Springs may be the artsy, laid-back coastal gem of Mississippi—but even paradise deserves a proper morning routine. Whether you’re a local in need of a recharge or a visitor seeking small-town soul with a side of oat milk, we’ve got you.


🧘‍♀️ 7:00 AM – Pretend You’re a Morning Person

First things first: fight your alarm like it's your toxic ex, then rise anyway like the emotionally resilient legend you are. Throw on something flowy and coastal (or whatever's clean), and head to Front Beach. Take a few deep breaths. Try not to check your phone. Fail. Try again.


Pro tip: If you see a pelican, it’s good luck. If you are the pelican—go back to sleep.


🏃‍♂️ 7:30 AM – Move That Beautiful Body

Mindfulness doesn’t require full splits, don’t worry. Whether you prefer a sunrise jog along the Ocean Springs Bridge or some gentle yoga near Shearwater Park, the goal is to feel something—preferably not just resentment.


Play a calming playlist, stretch something (anything), and whisper “I am the moment” to yourself. Bonus points for wearing matching athleisure and pretending it’s not just pajamas.

☕ 9:15 AM – Coffee = Clarity

No mindful morning is complete without a trip to Bright-Eyed Brew Co. or The Greenhouse on Porter. Order something fancy enough to say out loud (dirty chai with oat, half-sweet, extra chill) and sit down somewhere cozy with your journal, a book, or just your thoughts—briefly, before Instagram wins.


This is the hour for life goals, existential reflection, or texting your friend “we should start a business” and never speaking of it again.


🎨 10:00 AM – Feed Your Creative Soul

Pop into a local gallery like The Walter Anderson Museum of Art or browse the quirky shops along Government Street. You don’t need to buy anything—but you probably will. A hand-thrown mug? Yes. Sea-salt candle you swear smells like your childhood? Obviously.


Art heals. Shopping also heals. Combine them for full enlightenment.


🧘‍♂️ 11:00 AM – Close the Loop

Wrap up your morning with five minutes of silence under the giant oak trees downtown. Or, if you’re too antsy, just scroll TikTok on a bench while pretending you’re meditating. It’s 2025. We’re not judging.


Take one deep breath. Feel your shoulders drop. Remind yourself that life is good, your coffee was excellent, and yes—you’re totally nailing this whole “mindful morning” thing.
